17hr Training Prāṇāyāma, mudrā & bandha

Often as yoga practitioners we forget that there are much more components to the Yoga practice other than just āsana. When we just focus on one aspect of this complex practice, we are losing many of the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits it has to offer.

The Prāṇāyāma practice is the next step to follow when we have “mastered” āsana; and the practice of mudrā and bandha are there to support it. By incorporating these components in our daily practice, we can achieve a state of deeper awareness of our own body and enrich what we have to offer to the world.

Join Andrea Gracia in this 17 hour training where we will explore this practice being supported with specific instruction, benefits and precautions of each technique.

Lectures will be supported with āsana and meditation practices to enrich our time together throughout the weekend.

ANDREA GRACIA

My name is Andrea Gracia and I have been practicing Yoga for over 13 years. I started this journey when I was living in México, my homeland.

After years of learning from amazing teachers in México and in my current home in Canada, I decided to make one of my biggest dreams come true: Travel to India and study Yoga in its birthplace.

  • I was trained in Ashtanga and traditional Hatha Yoga both in theory and practice one on one with my Teacher Yogiji Yogendra Mishra, in the banks of the beautiful Himalayas in Rishikesh. I have been blessed with the opportunity to travel to the Motherland of Yoga constantly throughout the last couple of years to practice traditional Ashtanga Vinyasa under the wing of Saraswathi Jois (daughter of Patthabhi Jois and one of the two most respected leaders of this lineage) in Mysore, India; where I have been attending philosophy lectures and mantra chanting classes with some of the most renowned scholars that Mysore has to offer. I am currently pursuing Sanskrit language certification as well.

Earlier this year I spent 2 months in Mysore with my teacher Saraswathi where, after many years of dedicated practice and visits to her shala, I was granted her blessing and authorisation to teach Ashtanga Vinyasa as per her teachings and lineage. I also had the opportunity to refine my knowledge in Prāṇāyāma and Mudrā _with Sri. BNS Iyengar (one of the last standing students of Sri. Krishnamacharya), who is still teaching at 97 years young.

I am a seeker, before I am a teacher. I am passionate about this practice and everything it has to offer, and I truly believe that if we keep on spreading its teachings the way it has been taught to us, respecting and honouring its roots, we will have many many years more to enjoy this beautiful way of living.

Remember nothing is a coincidence, there's always a reason we cross paths with someone, and I am happy our paths crossed here and now <3
