Robin
tamura

  • Robin spent 18 years in the martial arts world before finding his home in Ashtanga Yoga. Diving deep into the practice he traveled to India for 8 months, studying Asana and Pranayama with his teacher Chidananda and immersing himself in the tradition.

He went on to study with Matthew Sweeney who introduced him to a more modern take on Yoga that aims to serve the individual needs of the student.

Robin tends to be pretty uncompromising when it comes to following his heart and likes to encourage the same in others. Inspired by Bruce Lee he got into spirituality in his early twenties and later moved from an animation career to becoming an alternative therapist. He’s deeply interested in what makes us human beings feel whole and how different practices and healing modalities can aid us in that.

With a love for traditional approaches but also a mind that is keen to research and refine, he likes to combine traditional discipline with contemporary technique, trying to find new ways of making yoga accessible without losing its integrity.

  • Still a dynamic practice but slower paced, this class challenges the student to explore posture in depth, focusing on breath, alignment and body-awareness. Forming a strong connection between mind and body, you are guided to find ways to naturally deepen your practice. This practice is based on traditional Ashtanga sequences and is suitable for both beginners and experienced students.
