  • In the lineage of Prana Vashya Yoga, by Yogacharya Vinay Kumar

Focus on Strength & Flexibility: creating awareness in the smaller, more subtle muscle groups related to the different segments of the spine. Understanding the importance of preparing the body with basic postures: to release tension and to create length in the anterior line (front side) of the body and to learn the proper selection of muscle groups responsible for mobility.

Improving the understanding in your body avoids that all the weight falls on the most flexible part of your lower back (L4/L5) which could cause injury. The awareness created by this practice increases your mobility, while still breathing properly and using less effort in order to accomplish advanced Asanas with ease.

  • A challenging Hatha-Vinyasa style class with creative flows, but a relatively slow pace to ensure enough time for correct alignment in each posture and conscious transitions. I like to play with arm balances & inversions and to add exercises from the functional movement scene to target specific elements of mobility and strength.

During class I offer many variations to challenge more experienced students

  • In the lineage of Prana Vashya Yoga, by Yogacharya Vinay Kumar

Learning and developing the sixty asana Prana Vashya Yoga Primary Series including understanding and perfecting the relationship of breath to asana practice.

Prana means breath, considered as a life-giving force. Vashya means capable of being subdued, controllable, governable. And the term dynamic means to be in constant change or action. At Prana Vashya Yoga, the emphasis is on the synchronization in between movement and breath and the control over both. Throughout the practice, the practitioner is taught precise breathing techniques which are accompanied with each movement, be it staying in a particular position or asana or moving in or out of it. This harmony between breath and movement can only be achieved by concentrating on the balance in between both the elements.

Breath, Body and Mind are the three cornerstones of Prana Vashya Yoga. Vinay Kumar focuses on supporting students and practitioners of Yoga across all levels and helping the understand the importance of breathing. The practice aims to regulate the balance in between the mind and the body using the breath as its tool. With constant and relevant connection between the mind and the body an individual can develop a capacity to relax the mind through the mind’s Pranic power.

Inner Axis is an interdisciplinary system developed by Max Strom (global teacher, speaker and author on personal transformation, yoga and spirituality). His method is based on yoga, Qi-Gong, movement therapy and Sufi practices. It utilises breathwork, breath-based yoga movements and mindfulness to deal directly with stress, anxiety and sleeplessness.

When I teach breathwork together with Yoga, then you can expect 30 mins of stress-release breathwork, followed by a slow-paced Hatha Yoga class, with the use of props (Yoga blocks & strap) and variations so everyone can individually decide on the intensity of the course.
