Carmen ANa
Esquijarosa

  • Born and raised in Cuba, Carmen Ana grew up as an athlete with a keen interest in mystical arts and religious expressions. Yoga became part of her life at the age of sixteen, initially self-practicing for nearly five years with guidance from a book. Upon leaving Cuba at twenty, she joined her first group yoga class, seeking tools to manage anxiety. The ancient art and discipline of yoga revealed unexplored energies within her body.

In 2013, Carmen Ana completed her first Yoga Teacher training, earning certification from the Yoga Alliance for the 200-hour standard from the Yoga Vedanta Forest Academy of Rishikesh and the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centres and Ashrams. Initiated into the Sivananda lineage, it holds a special place in her heart. Over the years, while incorporating insights from other yoga schools, the Sivananda tradition remains the foundation of her teachings. Influenced by prominent teachers like Sri Dharma Mittra, Sharon Gannon, and Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa, she has gathered knowledge from the greatest minds of our time.

During her study of Kriya Yoga in Rishikesh, India, in 2016, she had the honor of meeting Mother Ganga and integrating blessings and environmental awareness from Swami Chidanand Saraswati into her teachings.

In 2021, Carmen Ana earned a bachelor's degree in Sustainability and The Environment from Florida International University in Miami. Currently residing in Berlin, she is a full-time graduate student attending a master’s program in "Social design and Sustainable Innovation."

Carmen Ana identifies as a yoga teacher, environmentalist, vegan activist, and holds an optimistic outlook on a more sustainable future.

  • This 90-minute class incorporates a blend of philosophical approaches to yoga connecting them to a series of traditional pranayama (control of prana/breathing exercises) and plenty of physical movement. Followed by a long relaxation rooted on yoga Nidra (psychic sleep) principles. It’ll be a journey through diverse tools yoga offers for this ancient practice to remain long-lasting and sustainable in our lives.

There will also be other approaches to movement as creative expression.

This class is open to all levels but most appropriate for those who have already been practicing yoga for some time.
