  • Barbara is an Ashtanga Yoga teacher, teaching traditional Mysore style. She has been teaching since 2010 and started running her Mysore program in Berlin in 2017.

Barbara first came across Yoga in 2006 by practicing Hatha and Iyengar yoga. Her interest to deepen her practice lead her to Mysore India in 2008 where she started her Ashtanga practice at the KPJAYI with Sharath Jois. After that trip she moved to Berlin where she was able to dedicate herself fully in her practice and teaching.

In the further years she visited India to study with Rolf Naukojat, Regina Elhners and recently with Sharmila Desai.

In 2012 she met her teachers Matthew and Carla Vollmer who inspired her in many ways.

She is currently participating in a two-year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher certification program with her teachers Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach.

  • Mysore classes are suitable for all levels of practice, especially for beginners. Students are guided individually to develop their own Ashtanga Yoga practice. They are being taught progressively one posture at a time, at their own pace, synchronizing each movement with the rhythm of their own breath.

While the practice is geared to suit the individual’s needs, it occurs in a group setting, hence allowing students to benefit from, as well as support, each other through the collective energy generated.
