Adrian
O’Connor

  • Adrian has had regular practice for a long time, since the late 90s. He’s had many great teachers and has spent months in India to practice at the source. His classes are informed by years of ashtanga with emphasis on the breath, drishti and alignment.

In NYC in the late 90s Adrian went to his first class. He practiced with his first teacher, Mary Riley Nichols, for 10 years. She had been practicing already for almost 30 years at that point. From her he understood yoga as a practice of loving awareness which is the foundation of his practice and teaching until today. In the late 2000 he discovered Ashtanga, which informs his Asana.

  • Adrian has had many great teachers over the last 25 years. Traditional Hatha, ashtanga, Forrest, Iyengar, Dharma, all have inspired him. Adrian’s asana classes are about discipline, alignment, going to one’s edge, following the breath and practicing safely with a sense of curiosity exploration and self love.

Classes are strong but not fast paced. Students are encouraged to move with their own breath in order that they might get deeper into the postures.
